Electrochemistry Foundry Awarded $28M CEC Grant; UCR to Receive $1M for Battery Prototyping Lab

The California Energy Commission (CEC) announced that Electrochemistry Foundry has been awarded $28 million to build a battery manufacturing pilot plant. As a project partner, UC Riverside, led by Professor Juchen Guo, will receive $1 million to support the development of a dry room prototyping lab within the Winston Chung Global Energy Center, advancing regional capabilities in next-generation battery innovation.
